Raptor rehabilitation

Founded in 1973, F.R.E.E. (Falconhurst Raptor Rehabilitation & Environmental Education Center) is committed to the rehabilitation of birds of prey and the preservation of habitat through education programs and habitat enhancement projects.

F.R.E.E. is operated and funded by Northwest Gamebirds.

To the right are the pictures and stories of a few of the many raptors who have passed through our facility over the years.

The stewardship of our wildlife resources is of paramount importance to us. These links will help you learn more about wildlife rehabilitation:

Bald-Eagle

This eagle was shocked on a powerline. The electricity entered in the wing and exited through the leg. It was eventually released.
American-Kestrel-Falconl

This female Kestrel was the first raptor we rehabilitated. She had been shot in a wing with a BB gun.
Barn-Owl
Barn Owl
This Barn Owl’s home was destroyed when the haystack the parents nested in was moved. It was a downy baby when we recieved it. It was raised with other Barn Owl babies in our care. This photo was taken when it was released.
Western-Screech-Owl
Western Screech Owl
This Young Screech Owls home was destroyed when the nest tree was cut down. After a few weeks of flight conditioning and learning to catch prey it was released.
